Built for playschools. Not scaled down from a big school.

Most school software starts with Class 10 and works backwards. Yours has three-year-olds in it. That’s a different product, so we built a different product.

Parents see their child’s day — the note their teacher wrote, what they ate, when they napped. You run the whole centre from one screen.

What makes preschool software different from school software?

A playschool day doesn’t have periods in it. It has arrival, circle time, snack, outside, lunch, nap, story, pickup — the same rhythm every day, because that’s how small children feel safe.

So we didn’t give you a timetable grid with eight periods. We gave you the day as it actually runs, and parents can see where their child is in it right now.

That’s the whole idea. Nursery isn’t a smaller version of Class 8, so we stopped pretending it was and started again.

What parents get

Their child’s day, written by the person who was there

Not a form. Not a score. A note from their teacher.

“He tried the big slide for the first time today and came down laughing — twice!”

Teachers write a few of these a week. Over a term they add up to something a parent will keep.

What we did today, and what to try at home

One activity a week, sent to parents. “Count the stairs together.” “Bring a leaf from your walk on Thursday.”

No tick-boxes. Nothing to submit.A parent who had a hard week shouldn’t get a screen that makes them feel behind.

Today’s menu, before they ask

Curd rice on Saturday, khichdi on Friday. Parents stop asking whether their child ate.

Photos, but only with permission

Every photo is tied to consent, per child. A parent who says no isn’t in the picture — and if they change their mind later, the photo is actually deleted, not just hidden.

Who picked them up, and when

Check-in and check-out, so nobody has to remember and nobody has to ask.

It arrives on WhatsApp

No app to download. Parents open a link and it works — on any phone, in English, Hindi or Telugu.

What the director gets

One screen for the whole centre: who’s in right now room by room, who’s on duty, what’s waiting to be sent, and fees month by month.

Not a dashboard full of numbers you’ll never look at. The four or five things you actually check between 8 and 9 in the morning.

And a line we drew on purpose: you can see thatyour teachers are writing to parents, and whether any child is being missed. You cannot read individual children’s notes from the director’s screen. Those are between a teacher and one parent, and they stay that way.

Some things we won’t build

Every product says what it does. Here’s what we’ve decided not to do, and won’t.

We don’t score children. No grades, no percentiles, no ranking a three-year-old against the class. There’s no column in our database that could hold one — we checked, deliberately.

We don’t track moods. We built it once and removed it. A tick-list of how each child felt each day is a profile, and no preschool needs one.

We don’t shame parents. No completion tracking on home activities. No “you haven’t opened this.”

We don’t sell children’s data. Not to anyone, not ever, for any amount.

We don’t build for addiction. No streaks, no notifications engineered to pull a parent back. You’ll open it when there’s something worth seeing.

Frequently asked questions

What is Pehchaan Kidzz?

Pehchaan Kidzz is preschool management software for playschools, preschools, daycares and creches in India. It handles daily reports to parents, developmental growth notes, meal plans, photos with per-child consent, pickup records, fees and staff attendance. It is made by Pehchaan Tech Labs, Hyderabad.

How much does it cost?

₹0 per month for up to 20 children (smart cards ₹149 each), ₹699 per month for up to 50 children, and ₹1,299 per month for up to 100 children. Above 100 children, pricing is on request. There are no per-child charges and every plan includes every feature.

Is there a free plan for small playschools?

Yes. Centres with up to 20 children pay ₹0 per month and get the full product. You pay only ₹149 per child smart card.

How is this different from normal school management software?

Most school ERPs are built for Classes 1–12 and add a preschool section. Pehchaan Kidzz is built the other way round: no periods, no exams, no marks. A daily rhythm instead of a timetable, written growth notes instead of report cards, and weekly activity suggestions instead of homework.

Do parents need to download an app?

No. Parents get a link on WhatsApp that opens their child's page in any browser. There is nothing to install.

What languages does it support?

The parent portal works in English, Hindi and Telugu, with more Indian languages being added.

How do parents pay fees?

Fees are collected directly to the school's own bank account by UPI. Pehchaan does not sit in the payment path and does not take a cut of your fees.

Is children's data safe?

Children's data is never sold, to anyone. Photos are shared only with per-child parental consent, and a parent can withdraw consent at any time — the photo is then deleted, not just hidden. The product is built for India's DPDP Act.

Can teachers use it on a phone?

Yes. Teachers write daily reports, growth notes and incidents from a phone.

We run a school with both preschool and primary classes. Can we use it?

Yes. Schools with Classes 1–10 can run Pehchaan's full school platform and switch on the preschool features for their nursery and LKG rooms. The parents of preschool children get the Kidz experience regardless.

How long does setup take?

Most playschools are live within a few days: adding children and teachers, printing smart cards, and a training session with your staff.

Where are you based?

Pehchaan Tech Labs is in Hyderabad, and we work with schools across India.
